I’ve started and re-started writing this post a dozen times. What can you say when 28,000 people lose their jobs? This week, Disney Parks employees on both coasts found out they were being laid off. These talented, hard-working people devoted themselves to making magic every day – and somehow did it with a smile on their faces despite being ridiculously underpaid, overworked, and most importantly, under appreciated.

To the cast members who’s lives were turned upside down this week:

It was you who welcomed us into the parks every day. You kept us safe on rides, served up our favorite snacks, and brought our favorite characters to life. Your enthusiasm, helpfulness, and small acts of kindness made all the difference to park guests. You are the magic makers, and you deserved so much better.

Many of the talented Disneyland cast members that lost their jobs this week also run Etsy and other online shops. Please consider supporting the magic makers and check out some of the links below – all sites shared with permission from the owners.

Note: if you are a Disneyland cast member recently impacted by the layoffs and have a shop you’d like me to include in this list, please send me a link through Instagram or through my contact page. Thank you!
