Dream Boutique

October 2017 – March 2018

LOCATION

Downtown Disney – The Dream Boutique’s storefront faced the central courtyard in Downtown Disney. The shop overlooked Uva Bar, next to the Grand Californian’s Downtown Disney passageway. Today, this space houses the Disney Dress Shop.

EXPERIENCE

Details:

  • Merchandise – Princess toys, accessories, and pins
  • Unique Features – Mini Bibbidi Bobbidi-style salon, photo booth

Disney princesses merchandise extends beyond the gates of Disneyland. Downtown Disney’s princess hub was the Dream Boutique, a cute little shop selling souvenirs for princess fans of all ages. Little ones wanting a makeover could also hop into a chair in the salon, and leave the shop with a sparkly new hairdo. Finally, visitors closed out a trip to the Boutique with a stop in the shop’s princess photo booth. Whether guests stopped by for a makeover or just to browse, the Dream Boutique promised a royal reception from start to finish.

CLOSURE

With so many shops selling princess merchandise (including the massive World of Disney), Downtown Disney never really needed a princess-specific space. Instead, Disney opted to use the fairly large retail space for an expanded Dress Shop. The smaller location quickly became very popular, and dresses won out over princess makeovers. Dream Boutique closed in the spring of 2018, with the Dress Shop moving just a few weeks later.

TRIVIA

To mark the shop’s launch, a royal herald dressed in white proclaimed the Dream Boutique officially open to the public.

The Dream Boutique replaced Anna & Elsa’s Boutique, expanding the shop’s offerings beyond Frozen merchandise.
