EXPERIENCE

Details

  • Merchandise โ€“ jewelry and collectibles
  • Unique Features โ€“ mosaic detailing at the entryway

Something Silver was Downtown Disneyโ€™s largest jewelry shop, and a popular destination for gifts and souvenirs. Though this shop specialized in sterling silver pieces, you could find all kinds of jewelry here. In addition to its standard jewelry selection, Something Silver usually had a few themed collections, including non-Disney franchises (collections included Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, and The Hunger Games). If you were looking for a delicate souvenir from your trip to the Disneyland Resort, Something Silver was the place to go.

CLOSURE

This closure broke my heart (it was my favorite shop in DTD!). But Disney has a partnership with Pandora, so it wasn’t surprising when they announced the arrival of a new jewelry shop in a larger retail space in the district. Rather than house two competing jewelry stores, Disney announced that a Sprinkles cupcake shop would take its place. Something Silver closed in October, and Sprinkles opened a few months later in the central plaza.

TRIVIA

Pay close attention to the detailing at the front of the store; the entryway was covered top to bottom in hidden Mickeys!

  1. This was my favorite store because it had affordable jewelry. I would buy a new piece each vacation which brought me great memories of our vacation. Not only did I buy jewelry but cleaner to keep my pieces looking nice and now I need more jewelry cleaner. Very disappointing! I wished Disney would reconsider.
