It’s full-on spring break time at the Disneyland Resort, and the park is HOPPING! Big crowds, big announcements, and a big ticket offer hit the resort in March. Let’s dive into the recap.
A MAGICAL SURPRISE DURING 90s NITE
Guests attending 90s Nite on March 4 got a very special surprise. On top of the expected character meet and greets and photo ops, a 90s heroine herself joined in on some karaoke – Susan Egan, voice of Megara from Hercules!
If you’re trying to place where in the park she’s singing, it’s the Golden Horseshoe in Frontierland.
ROBERT DOWNEY JR DELIVERS THE LATEST AVENGERS CAMPUS NEWS
Last year, Disney announced that two new attractions are on their way to Avengers Campus. At this year’s SXSW conference in Texas, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige and CCO for WDI Bruce Vaughn hosted a session to share more about what’s in store – particularly for the Stark Flight Lab. And who better to tease the attraction than Tony Stark himself?

During the presentation, we learned that riders will board “gyro-kinetic pods”, which will be hoisted into the air by a gigantic robotic arm. Then, they will maneuver through the lab at high speed practicing Avenger-approved tricks. As Bruce Vaughan put it:
Transferring from a track to a robot arm and then back again – nothing like this has ever been done before in a theme park, and we’re so excited about it.

OTHER UPDATES
70th anniversary details continue trickling in! (I’ll have a full post covering what’s in store in a few weeks). This month, we learned that the Jonas Brothers will perform the celebration’s official theme song, “Celebrate Happy”, which will also be featured in the Paint the Night Parade when it returns May 16.
Throughout the summer celebration (May 16 to August 14), the resort is offering a special ticket discount. Tickets are on sale now, with 3-day tickets as low as $120/day, and 4-day tickets as low as $100/day. For terms and conditions or to purchase, check out the offer page here.
It’s the end of an era in Hollywood Land! This month, the Disney Junior Dance Party hosted its last show. While we don’t have details as to what’s coming next for the theater, Disney says a new show will debut later this year.
A bizarre news story briefly impacted guests visiting the resort this month. On March 24, Anaheim Police were chasing suspects at high speed – until they ditched their stolen car and disappeared into the parking garages. Security temporarily halted guests from returning to their vehicles until the suspects were captured.
And finally, Disney Parks Blog released the foodie guide for Season of the Force. It includes all kinds of snacks drinks, and popcorn buckets – and I want to try almost everything!
