When you think of Disneyland, you probably have a mental image of the castle standing tall at the end of Main Street. But Sleeping Beauty’s home isn’t even close to the tallest structure at the Disneyland Resort. In fact, at 77 feet, it doesn’t even make the top 10!
Here are the 10 tallest Disneyland structures, past and present.
1. Tower of Terror (now Mission: BREAKOUT!) – 183 feet
2. Maliboomer – 180 feet
3. Sun Wheel (now the Pixar Pal-A-Round) – 160 feet
4. Matterhorn Mountain – 147 feet
5. Peak of Cars Land mountain range – 125 feet
6. California Screamin’ (now the Incredicoaster) – 120 feet
7. Space Mountain – 118 feet
8. Grizzly Peak – 110 feet
9. Big Thunder Mountain – 104 feet
10. Splash Mountain – 87 feet
Oh man. I miss the Maliboomer.
Imagineers are soooo good at forced perspective that it’s nearly impossible to tell the actual heights of things when you’re in ‘the land’. I love that!
Really?! So cool. I feel like some structures are not nearly as tall as you think, and vice versa.
I wonder if the same rides and attractions at WDW are the same sizes.
Hmmm. I thought maybe the original Rocket to the Moon in Tomorrow Land might make the list. How tall was that?
It only measured 72 feet. That’s 5 feet shorter than the castle, believe it or not!
