This summer, the Disneyland Resort is celebrating Pixar unlike ever before. Leading up to the grand opening of Pixar Pier on June 23, both Disneyland and California Adventure will host Pixar Fest, a new resort-wide festival celebrating all things Pixar. Both parks will offer all new merchandise and Pixar-themed snacks, and the festival will usher in tons of new entertainment.
CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE
Between shopping, snacking, and meeting your favorite Pixar characters, stop by Hollywood Land for the Pixar Shorts Film Festival. In the Hollywood Land theater, you can watch some of Pixar’s most famous shorts, including Lava and For the Birds. And in the evening, California Adventure will host a revamped Paint the Night Parade, including an electrifying Incredibles float.
And of course, the grand debut of Pixar Pier comes June 23. The land will feature the Incredicoaster, a new Toy Story themed carousel, and a mysterious Inside Out attraction.
The new Pier also includes a few new snack carts and dining spots, most notable Señor Buzz’s churros!
As the Pier’s opening date approaches, we’ll undoubtedly get more information and updates. Keep a close eye on Disney Parks Blog for the latest information.
DISNEYLAND
Pixar Play Parade returns to the resort after a long hiatus, this time traveling through Disneyland. Don’t miss three brand new floats: Luxo Jr., Up, and Inside Out.
Don’t miss the brand new fireworks show coming during the festival: Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular. This show includes pyrotechnics, projections, and an all new soundtrack, with official viewing locations in front of the castle, on the Rivers of America, and on the Small World promenade.
One more new change – Redd Rockett Pizza Port will become Pizza Planet! (the famous restaurant from Toy Story)
Pixar Fest runs from April 13 to September 3. For more information about the new festival, see the official announcement here.
