This is going to be the summer of Pixar at the Disneyland Resort. Last year’s Pixar Fest event is back and it’s going to be bigger than ever. From April 26 – August 4, both Disneyland and California Adventure will be throwing a Pixar party and everyone is invited.

ATTRACTION & ENTERTAINMENT OFFERINGS
Throughout Pixar Fest the spotlight will be shining a little brighter on all the Pixar attractions across the resort, especially in Pixar Pier. But the festival will also usher in some new offerings:
Disneyland
- Pixar Pals Playtime Party – This all-dance dandy party invites guests of all ages to join in on the fun. Head over to Fantasyland Theater to watch some of the classic Pixar shorts, play games, and participate in special photo ops alongside some surprise Pixar characters.
- Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular – To celebrate the season, Disneyland will debut a new fireworks show nightly above the castle. The show will celebrate friendship and feature a number of beloved Pixar characters, with projections displayed on the castle, Rivers of America, and It’s A Small World.
California Adventure
- Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration – California Adventure’s new high energy parade will travel through the park twice a day. Floats will feature more than two dozen characters, mixing new favorites like Soul and Turning Red with classics like Toy Story and Monsters, Inc.
- Club Pixar at the Hollywood Backlot – During the festival, the backlot will have two distinct personalities. During the day, you’re invited to pose at Pixar-themed photo ops or play games. And at night, get ready to dance with both a DJ and live performances.

FOOD, DRINKS, & MERCH
While there will be Pixar-themed food, drinks, and merchandise available across both parks and in Downtown Disney, the big snacking draw during Pixar Fest will be the marketplaces. Starting May 10, six marketplaces will appear throughout California Adventure. Each will celebrate a different movie and feature a corresponding menu. Here are the teasers from the Disney Parks Blog:
- Summertime dishes inspired by the Italian coast at Portorosso Pasta from “Luca”
- Reimagined classics at Gusteau’s To-Go, themed to “Ratatouille”
- A playful mélange of elements at The Elemental Table, inspired by “Elemental”
- Fun foods perfect for a tween, boy band (or anyone, really!) at 4*Town Fav*4*ites from “Turning Red”
- Feel-good foods that feed your soul at The Spark, inspired by “Soul”
- Flavors to appeal to all of your emotions at Hanger Management from “Inside Out.”

CHARACTER ENCOUNTERS
No Pixar-themed event would be complete without its leading characters. Aside from the parade and dance parties listed above, expect to see a lot of Pixar characters roaming California Adventure. The Disneyland Resort is a little different than many other Disney resorts (especially Disney World) in that characters are notorious for freely roaming vs. always being at a designated photo op area (though they do that too). If you’re not paying attention, it’s easy to miss them as they walk by. I don’t know if the Pixar characters will do this during the celebration, but some characters even ride attractions (for example, Peter Pan regularly rides the King Arthur Carrousel). All that is to say – pay attention to your surroundings; you never know who might show up!
