Note: this post covers Disneyland’s refurbishment “season”, from January-March. For current scheduled closures, please visit here.
With a few long term projects ongoing throughout this year and next, 2024 doesn’t appear to be having a conventional refurbishment season. Typically, the quiet time after the holidays (roughly January – March), Disneyland stacks a lot of construction together to get work done ahead of spring break crowds. While refurbishments and closures do happen all year long, this “season” has the largest impact.
But as I mentioned, given the ongoing projects, there aren’t as many closures during the 2024 refurbishment period as is typical – which is great for visitors! Disneyland constantly changes, adds, and removes plans for attraction refurbishments, so this list will change frequently over the next few months. Disneyland rarely announces re-opening dates for longer refurbishments until shortly before the work is completed, so for now, you’ll see those dates marked as TBA (to be announced).
Don’t be discouraged by the list of refurbishments, even though it’s not too outrageous – this quiet period is one of my favorite times of year to visit the resort! Sure, some rides will be closed. But you’ll also experience shorter lines, magically foggy mornings, and less crowd congestion in the background of your photos.
