If you’re like me – getting bored of the offerings on all the streaming services these days – allow me to introduce you to a YouTube channel I can’t stop watching.

Meet Defunctland.

Defunctland is a YouTube channel that explores the history of theme parks – from closed attractions, to scrapped projects, to entire parks that “failed”. The channel features videos that in my opinion are documentary quality, with amazing research and rarely seen footage/images. They also run a podcast where they interview former Imagineers and other creatives from the theme park industry.

Defunctland spans far beyond the world of Disneyland. This channel covers Disney World, Six Flags, Disney and Nickelodeon TV shows, and more. If you’re at all interested in theme park history, development, or trivia, there are definitely videos on this channel you’ll enjoy.

I can’t recommend their content enough – and it’s free! Next time you need something to watch, go check out Defunctland. Their videos are not a huge time commitment, but you’ll learn a ton.
