I know I am extremely late to the party, but I just realized I never talked about a very special Disney+ series on this blog, released in 2019.

The Imagineering Story is an incredibly well done series, covering attractions and park projects from all 6 resorts around the world. Narrated by Angela Bassett, the series largely goes in chronological order – starting with Disneyland’s construction in the 50s and ending with the newest parks projects like Galaxy’s Edge and the Shanghai resort.
Topics include:
- Episode 1: Creation of Disneyland & the 1964 New York World’s Fair
- Episode 2: Creation of Walt Disney World and Tokyo Disneyland
- Episode 3: Development of attractions in Disney-MGM studios and the start of Disneyland Paris
- Episode 4: Park expansion in the US, and international expansion with Tokyo and Hong Kong
- Episode 5: California Adventure 2.0, updates to fan favorite attractions
- Episode 6: The latest parks projects and teasers for the future

I absolutely adore this series and have watched it through several times. There’s something for everyone – whether you’re a regular parks visitor or a casual fan. You’ll see concept art and attraction models demonstrating how attractions took shape. You’ll see footage of and interviews with the Imagineers behind the projects. And you’ll walk away with a new appreciation for the unique mix of technical skill and artistry that is Imagineering.
I agree, it’s a great series! I also enjoyed the “Adventure through the Disney Archives” feature.
