MY RATING – ★☆☆☆☆
I absolutely love Chinese food, so I was beyond excited to try the Lucky Fortune Cookery. But having been there twice now, I can say the food is just not good. Both times I ate at Lucky Fortune, I left with a stomachache, and my second trip actually made me sick. There are tons of restaurants in the area with great meal options, so I’d recommend skipping this one any trying something else.

The central dining area, where the Lucky Fortune Cookery resides, is a blend of San Francisco and Tokyo from the film Big Hero 6.
Things have CHANGE and for the BETTER and not looking back but moving forward to better foods to serve Up. 7/15/2023
I’m definitely going to re-review when it officially reopens as part of San Fransokyo – I’ve heard it’s steadily been getting better over the years so it seems like a good time to try again 🙂
I’m very surprised by this review. I only ate at this place once, a few weeks ago, but I thought the food was fine. Have you been recently?
I haven’t, Mark! To be honest, I haven’t had much desire to try it again after it made me sick. The last time I ate there was probably the fall of 2013-ish. That’s definitely enough time for the food to get better. Maybe I’ll give it another try the next time I go!
