When most people think of Mickey’s Toontown, they think of Mickey, and maybe Roger Rabbit. But this little land tucked beyond Fantasyland celebrates all kinds of Disney lore. You’ll find a toon version of the Windows on Main Street, tributes to Disney legends, and even a nod to Walt Disney Animation Studios.
Toontown’s Department of Ink and Paint can be found in the center square, by City Hall. You can’t step inside, but this little shop is Toontown’s mini version of the Walt Disney Animation department of the same name. For 7 decades, Ink & Paint artists inked and painted individual animation cells with pin-sized brushes and excruciating precision, bring the animated classics you know and love to life. Though computers have taken over the animation world, the Department survives, releasing exclusive artwork still created on studio grounds.
The Department of Ink & Paint in Toontown isn’t just a goofy sign; it’s a tribute to the artists behind the stories that make Disneyland magical every single day!
