Whenever I visit Disneyland, I try to squeeze in a little time by the Rivers of America waterfront. There aren’t a ton of seating areas right by the water, so you have to be a bit intentional about spending time here when you’re not racing to rides or watching Fantasmic!. But a few years ago, New Orleans Square polished up some of its dockside real estate to make a perfect spot for enjoying the view.

Welcome to Pelican’s Landing.

Pelican's Landing

This seating area is closest to the Harbour Galley, but it’s not dedicated for any particular restaurant. It’s the perfect place to bring your beignets and mint julep or (what I usually do) sit down with a churro and watch the various boats pass by. And don’t be afraid to get up close to the pelican nests; these feathered friends don’t move no matter how much you invade their personal space.

  1. I love little spots like this. Quiet seating, while eating or having a refreshing seat, with all the wonderful scenery in front of you and live going on all around you.
