February 2021 – present
LOCATION
Downtown Disney – The Star Wars Trading Post overlooks the western end of the Downtown Disney district. If you’re coming from the hotels, you’ll see it on your left – just before the Monorail station. If you’re coming from the parks side, keep to the right. You’ll see the shop on your right once you pass the LEGO Store.
EXPERIENCE
Details:
- Merchandise – Clothing, toys, lightsabers, accessories
- Price Range – Massive range, cheaper toys less than $20 and lightsabers over $200 with accessories
- Unique Features – Rey’s Speeder and detailed interior & exterior theming
Step into a galaxy far, far away by visiting the Star Wars Trading Post. This Downtown Disney shop has a huge selection of goods for Star Wars fans of all ages. From hats to water bottles to personalized lightsabers and more, this shop has something for everyone.
SHOPPING TIPS
To be honest, I’d only recommend visiting this store if you don’t plan to visit Disneyland during your trip. Otherwise, it’s a lot more fun to shop in the Galaxy’s Edge marketplace within the park. But if you’re not headed into the park, this shop is the next best thing. The shop is decently large and has a wide selection of Star Wars merchandise – so it’s a great place in the Downtown Disney district for fans to explore.
TRIVIA
The official theme of this shop is “a hidden jungle Resistance base”.
Does this building look vaguely familiar? It used to be the Rainforest Cafe!
For a brief period in 2020, the Wonderground Gallery hosted the first version of the Trading Post.
I was really disappointed when I first discovered that the Rainforest Cafe had closed. Still am.
Haha. Me too! I’d take that over the Trading Post any day 🙂
