LOCATION
Paradise Pier – Phineas & Ferb held their dance party in Paradise Pier’s large open plaza, where Pacific Wharf, Grizzly Peak, and Paradise Pier met. Then and now, this plaza is right next to the Little Mermaid entrance.
BACKGROUND
California Adventure, like Disneyland, has its own parade route. Parades run between Paradise Gardens Park (previously part of Paradise Pier), along Pacific Wharf, through Buena Vista Street, and down into Hollywood Land. But during the park’s extensive refurbishment and expansion project, this parade route was partially blocked due to construction walls. As a result, California Adventure needed a smaller scale show to entertain the crowds that didn’t have to travel very far. The Phineas & Ferb’s Rockin’ Rollin’ Dance Party opened in 2011, and ended up running 5-6 times a day for another 2 years after the park’s major construction was completed.
EXPERIENCE
The show’s concept was pretty simple: Phineas & Ferb rolled in on a red truck, ready to host a dance party with their friend, DJ Stevie Lemmons. Younger park visitors were invited to approach the “Fireside Girl” dancers, who taught them dances to songs featured in the animated show. Adults got a chance to join in on the fun during a hula hoop segment, before their older sister Candace tattled on Phineas & Ferb for driving around the park and they had to head home.

CLOSURE
After a much longer run than anticipated (and whether they knew it or not at the time, less than a year left in the show’s run), California Adventure was ready for a new interactive show. The Green Army Men from Toy Story took over the slot, performing a show multiple times a day ever since.
TRIVIA
Phineas & Ferb was an animated show on the Disney Channel, running from 2008 to 2015.
Much of the core television show crew attended the park show’s final performance, including the creators, head writer, and voice actors of Phineas & Ferb.
For the dance show’s first holiday season, the dance party took on a limited-run holiday theme.
