It’s officially spring! With warmer weather, spring break crowds, and Food and Wine festival in full swing, March was a very busy month at the Disneyland Resort. I hope you’re feeling renewed energy too…summer is so close!

FOOD AND WINE FESTIVAL IN FULL SWING

As I mentioned above, the Food & Wine Festival kicked off in March across California Adventure. With food kiosks, mixology classes, and live entertainment, the festival effectively takes over Paradise Gardens Park and parts of Hollywood Land.

This year’s festival runs until April 27. For more information about all of the events, sip and savor passes, and what to expect, check out my previous post here.

BLUEY BRINGS THE CROWDS

If you have any little ones or know friends/family with little ones, you definitely know Bluey. I’ve always been puzzled as to why this wildly successful Disney show had zero presence in Disneyland – and that was definitely corrected in March.

Now you can visit the Fantasyland Theatre to experience “Bluey’s Best Day Ever!” Unlike previous shows in the theater, this isn’t strictly a stage performance audiences sit through. All day long, you can play games, meet characters, and snack at the Troubadour Tavern, and then the stage lights up multiple times per day for 30-minute dance party performances.

This video from Attractions Magazine shows the entire stage show, so you can enjoy it from home!

Disneyland further celebrated Bluey’s arrival with the debut of themed treats and beverages across different resort restaurants and snack carts. As expected, one of the most popular items is this specialty Bluey popcorn bucket.

SAVANNAH BANANAS DAY

On March 26, Disneyland brought back a massively popular event from last year: Savannah Bananas Day.

If you aren’t familiar with the Bananas, they are professional exhibition baseball team with the goal of making baseball incredibly fun. They dance, perform acrobatic tricks, and host fan experiences all over the country, usually alongside other exhibition teams.

At the Disneyland Resort, the Bananas entertained the crowd with a special performance in front of the castle, marched in a cavalcade down Main Street, danced in front of California Adventure’s lagoon, and spent time meeting fans before hitting a few rides.

The Disney Parks Blog released a photo album with highlights from the day – you can check it out here! (By the way, back in February Disneyland teased an “expanded partnership” with the Bananas, but I have yet to see any details about that aside from Bananas Day. I’ll update this post if I can find anything!)

OTHER UPDATES

For a limited time, the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail has special decor and activities available to promote the latest Pixar movie, Hoppers.

And finally, the Disneyland Cast and Community Instagram recently shared a super interesting peek at Disneyland’s lagoon divers, paired with a story on the Disney Parks Blog. I highly recommend you check it out – I was amazed at the work they do.
