Two months to go in 2019, and the Disneyland Resort will spend the rest of the year in full holiday glamour. Over the next few days, the trees will be trimmed, garlands hung, and of course, Elsa will touch up the snow on the castle. But before we turn our full attention to the holidays, let’s take a look back at the end of Disneyland’s Halloween season.

OOGIE BOOGIE BASH CONCLUDES

I wanted to share this STUNNING photo from @NotOneLine!

Thursday night marked the last Oogie Boogie Bash of 2019. (If you missed it, I wrote up a quick recap with some costume photos here). I definitely enjoyed the Bash, but I’m still hoping they move it back to Disneyland next year. It’s just not the same without the fog over the Rivers of America and the spiderweb covered castle.

I also want to give a shout out to some of the best costumes I saw on Twitter this year. A+ to these fabulous Disneyland trash cans.

TOMORROWLAND EMBARKS ON A NEW FUTURE

Across the promenade, Tomorrowland continued its construction. Last month I mentioned the removal of the jagged rocks, and now, work has moved backward to the walls alongside Star Tours and the Astro Blasters.

Disneyland has yet to officially announce a new design for the front of Tomorrowland, but one thing is for sure: the land is finally getting some much-needed TLC.

One thing Disneyland DID announce this month is a new pilot program for fast passes. Tomorrowland visitors can now get fast passes for Space Mountain, the Astro Blasters, or Star Tours from one set of kiosks – located by the theater next to the Star Trader.

Here’s hoping more lands adopt this centralized system – no more running from ride to ride to get those fast passes.

OTHER UPDATES

Downtown Disney’s The VOIDvirtual reality attraction transformed into a new adventure this month. Now you can suit up and join the Avengers, complete with your own suit made from Wakandan vibranium and Stark technology.

Did you notice some strange light fixtures set up along Main Street in the middle of the month? Those went up for some Dancing With The Stars filming!

We now have dates for California Adventure’s two winter/spring festivals. The Lunar New Year Festival runs from January 17 to February 9, and the Food & Wine Festival runs from February 28 to April 21.

And finally, we had a Skywalker sighting in Batuu this month. Hayden Christiansen, a.k.a. Anakin Skywalker, visited Galaxy’s Edge and even stepped inside the Millennium Falcon.
