Note: this post covers Disneyland’s refurbishment “season”, from January-March. For current scheduled closures, please visit here.
Due to the COVID-19 closure, it’s actually been a few years since Disneyland had a true refurbishment season. This isn’t an official event, like the Halloween or holiday season. Instead, the park stacks a few larger refurbishment projects into the post holiday quieter period of the year, typically between January and March. While refurbishments and closures do happen all year long, this “season” has the largest impact.
Disneyland constantly changes, adds, and removes plans for attraction refurbishments, so this list will change frequently over the next few months. Disneyland rarely announces re-opening dates for longer refurbishments until shortly before the work is completed, so for now, you’ll see those dates marked as TBA (to be announced).
Don’t be discouraged by the list of refurbishments – this quiet period is one of my favorite times of year to visit the resort! Sure, some rides will be closed. But you’ll also experience shorter lines, magically foggy mornings, and less crowd congestion in the background of your photos.
