Once I started blogging, I started taking pictures like crazy every time I visited the parks. Who knew if I’d eventually need a photo of that angle? That building? That seemingly insignificant tree? Over time, I’ve amassed quite the collection of fun – but useless – images from around the resort. Since they’ll probably never make their way into a regular post, I thought from time to time I’d start sharing some of them: my park snapshots. I hope these different images bring you a little joy, and help feed your Disneyland obsession until your next park trip!

Snapshots Vol. 1

Indiana Jones queue…I just love this section with the bamboo roof.

House hunting while waiting for Casey Jr. to depart from the station.

Some views from the Pinocchio queue.

Snapshots Vol. 4

Still getting used to the rock work between Frontierland and Galaxy’s Edge. I think I like it!

The drops on Grizzly River Run may be a little scary, but the surrounding forest is so serene.

Sorry Magic Kingdom…Disneyland’s outdoor teacups with lanterns hanging from the tree win every time.

  1. Love the “Snapshots” photos! Whenever I am at the park I look for the quiet corners or nooks and crannies with a gap in the crowds to immerse myself into the magic of Disneyland that I think Walt envisioned. Great shots of Big Thunder Mountain, The Matterhorn (looking like a view from a Swiss village), and the Aladdin and Cinderella castles… intimate little “worlds” inside the crowded “lands”!

  2. Very nice work.

It’s not often I see photos of Disneyland that are so personal. It makes me to sit back with a cup of coffee and recall special moments I had at the park.

You’re showing us something we probably never take note to stop and reflect as we scurry about our day at Disneyland.

  3. Great photos! Random pics make me feel a little like being at the park even though I’m far away. Is is OK if I grab a couple to use as computer desktop images?

  4. I have been going to Disneyland since Aug 1955; over 300 separate trips. I too, in the more recent years of instant cameras and such (Do you remember Photo Mat?) I have lots of pictures like the ones you’ve taken. Disneyland is always changing. I have photos of things that are gone; every season, or major introduction of a new Disney movie or event, there are new things to see, which will be gone and never return. Remember Rocket Rods? People Mover? Skyway to Tomorrowland? Twenty Leagues Under The Sea? On Main Street from entrance circle to the plaza used to be short trees. Only for a few years. (No pictures except mental images). Plants and sometimes trees change, or are removed. You keep taking those pictures, and looking back. You’ll be surprised at the minor changes you’d never notice except when looking back at those pictures. (I wish I had label them as you have.)

    • Thank you for the encouragement! In the time since I’ve been blogging, I’ve started to notice all the little changes too. It’s really interesting to see the park evolve over time.
