Tomorrow, California Adventure launches a brand new live musical show: Tale of the Lion King.
This show, which will be performed live in Paradise Gardens Park throughout the summer, marks the 25th anniversary of The Lion King. To find the new stage, head down the park’s wide walkway from Buena Vista Street toward Pixar Pier. You’ll see the colorful stage on the platform facing the water, before the bridge to the pier.
18 Performers, the Storytellers of the Pride Lands, will retell the major events of the film through song and dance. The show features new compositions of classic songs from the original soundtrack. Each performance will also include live drummers accompanying the dancers.
Take a look at this behind the scenes video from Disney Parks Blog for a glimpse into the show’s production.
As of today, Disney has not released a specific schedule for the Tale of the Lion King. The event also has yet to launch an official page on Disneyland’s website; if/when there is a page, I will update this post.
For specific showtimes, viewing information, or additional performance details, check out the Disneyland App on the day of your visit or ask a cast member in Paradise Gardens Park.
