Sometimes when I visit Disneyland, my friends and family are puzzled by the pictures I take. This post is a perfect example. I was trying to get some nice shots of…trash cans. What on earth could possibly be newsworthy about trash cans?

Well, as it turns out…in Galaxy’s Edge, the trash cans each feature a hidden gem.

Galaxy's Edge Trash Code

Look closely at the labels beneath the openings, and you’ll see a code. The first part is in Aurebesh, Batuu’s official language, and the second part is numeric.

The Aurebesh translates to: “Trash to sector”, and the number code is 3263827. In A New Hope, Luke, Leia, and Han Solo become trapped in Trash Sector 3263827, in one of the original trilogy’s most famous scenes.

So ultimately, the moral of the story is, most things around Disneyland have something interesting or special about them…sometimes, even the trash cans!

  1. Further complicating things, that number on the can is my actual phone number, sans area code. I do occasionally get phone calls generated at Galaxy’s Edge; Good thing I’m a giant Star Wars fan! 🙂
