LOCATION
Main Street USA – The Mad Hatter faces the Town Square Courtyard on Main Street. You’ll find the little shop in the northeast corner of the square, to the left of Great Moments With Mr. Lincoln.
EXPERIENCE
Details:
- Merchandise – Hats, headbands, and small accessories
- Price Range – Most items range between $20 and $50
- Unique Features – Custom embroidery station, the Mad Hatter’s hat sitting on the marquee
Disneyland visitors hoping to grab a hat or ears for their day in the parks have the perfect location on Main Street. You can get your gear at the start of your day, or pick up a hat/ears at the end of the day if you don’t want to carry them around. This little shop has a huge selection, and it also offers custom embroidery on the classic Mickey hats.
SHOPPING TIPS
If I’m buying ears or a hat for someone else, I make this my last stop of the day. It’s right by the exit, and I don’t have to rent a locker or carry a shopping bag around for hours. My only real shopping tip here is to avoid the shop during parades or the evening fireworks; the shop is right next to where the parade exits Main Street, so you’ll be 100% trapped until the shows are over.
TRIVIA
For its first five years of operation, the Mad Hatter was located in the Penny Arcade building. It moved to its current location by the Opera House in 1963.

Keep this going please, great job!
That parade tip can actually be bigger than it may seem. Trapped in a store behind a wall of people does not seem like a place that many people would like to be.
