The largest gift shop in Critter Country is known as Pooh Corner; it’s a place where you can meet characters, shop for handmade sweets, or build your pin collection. Most visitors to Critter Country have undoubtedly wandered through the shop’s sweet smelling rooms or wandered along the old-fashioned porch. But few notice a hidden detail up above them: Mr. Sanders’ House!
You might be wondering…who is Mr. Sanders? In the original book by A.A. Milne, Pooh lives in a house with “Mr. Sanders” on the door in gold letters. The assumption is that Mr. Sanders was the former resident of the home, as Sanders is not Pooh’s last name. We never meet this mysterious character, but we can assume he was a bear. After all, Pooh’s home is the perfect size and shape for a Pooh bear! So in the end, this Mr. Sanders’ House is Pooh’s House.
You’ll notice the home has a mailbox for Kanga, and a tiny one for Roo. There’s a bell for visiting friends to ring, but it’s out of reach of Pooh’s human friends. And of course, tons and tons of honey pots to keep Pooh happy when he’s not out making the rounds in Critter Country.
That’s so cute… I never noticed that when I was there.
