Disneyland After Dark returns! The first event, Throwback Nite, kicked off Disneyland’s new ticketed event series back in January. And this May, the park welcomes event #2: Star Wars Nite.
On May 3 (the evening before May the 4th, a.k.a. Star Wars Day), Disneyland will close early, only allowing in event guests. Party guests are encouraged to dress in full Star Wars costumes. We don’t know which attractions will be open yet (for event #1, it was a list of about 10-15) but it does seem like many fan favorites will be open, even outside of Tomorrowland. Event attendees will also have access to exclusive entertainment:
- Character encounters (specific characters will be a surprise!)
- DJs and dance parties throughout the park
- Stars Wars photo stations
- Exclusive food and drink offerings
- Early access to Star Wars Day merchandise
The party will kick off three new Star Wars experiences in Tomorrowland. First, the “March of the First Order” performances made popular in Disney World will move into Disneyland. Second, Space Mountain will once again adopt its “Hyperspace” overlay. And finally, Rey herself will join the Launch Bay to meet visitors!
Tickets for the event ($99) will go on sale for pass holders March 27, and March 29 for the general public. For more information about the event (or to purchase tickets), visit the official page here.
Will they be offering more event tickets? I see it’s sold out.
Unfortunately no. But if the event proves successful, it might become an annual event, or multi-night event in the future! You never know.
